iTherm® Single gate insert

iTherm® Tool Insert is produced from tool steel forged or rolled blocks using HTS proprietary additive manufacturing technology.

It is a single body component with equal mechanical properties as tool steel monoblock.

It has only two connectors for the cooling medium (IN and OUT).

Cooling channels can be freely designed according to cooling/heating requirements of the moulded part, not by limitations of using conventional drilling methods.

It is highly customizable to specific customer requirements.

More freedom designing cooling channels

In comparison with conventionally made Gate Insert, iTherm® Gate Insert gives you extra flexibility to bring cooling channels near the critical zones.

Even heat distribution on the working surface

In comparison with conventionally made Gate Insert (image on the left), when using iTherm® Gate Insert (image on the right) the heat is distributed much more evenly over the surface.

 

Higher surface quality of the moulded part

On thermal gate systems, it eliminates part defects or blemishes and stringing. On valve gate systems it eliminates cold slugs or part defects/blemishes. It also allows operating the hot runner tip at a higher temperature without impacting part quality or inducing mould sticking.

Shorter cycle time

 

Combining the advantages of iTherm® Gate Insert, you can significantly shorten cycle time by up to 20%.

iTherm® GATE INSERT MODEL RANGE

Based on the specifics of different gating systems, a selection of different iTherm® Gate insert types is available. All types come with a selection of hot runner nozzle, which is placed either on the Cavity or Core side. There is also an option to choose iTherm® Gate Insert without the nozzle seat.

Material

iTherm® Gate Inserts are made using forged or rolled tool steel blocks produced in EU.

Most often used grades are 1.2083/420, 1.2343/H11, 1.2344/H13.

Based on specific customer need, other steel grades can be used.
